Nitrogen is one of the importantelement of the living being as well asof the environment . It covers about78% of atmospheric volume .It is the source of protein and chlorophyll. The cycle turnover of atmosphere nitrogen to organic complex nitrogenousand mineralization of organic matter to soluble inorganic from and eventually againrelease of molecular nitrogen to atmosphereis called nitrogen cycle . The main source of nitrogenous organic matter or soil is plant residues animals residues synthesis in addition of atmosphere molecular nitrogen . Their composition is mediated by soil microorganisms .

The nitrogen cycle is completed in four steps by a different kind of microorganism.

• Ammonification
• Nitrification
• Denitrification

Nitrogen fixation

The conversion of atmospheric molecular nitrogen into inorganic form is knowns as nitrogen fixation. The nitrogen fixing is carried out by some specific microorganisms which are either symbiotic or non-symbiotic.
