The Universal Federation of Travel Agents Association (UFTAA):

It was founded in 1966 A.D by the merger of the International Federation of Travel Agencies and the Universal Organization of Travel Agencies and the Universal Organization of travel Agents Assosication. It now forms the only global federation of travel agents associations and this represents travel agents throughout the world. UFTAA membership is made up of National Travel Agents Association who represents about 50000 travel agencies with over a million employees full members of UFTAA are the national travel agents association or organizations besides the full members the secretary general of UFTAA may register individual travel agencies which are as follows:

1. A member of National Association which is a member of UFTAA.
2. Amember of National association in a country which doesnot have UFTAA membership.
3. In a country where there is no national association.

Explanation:

1. A member of National Association which is a member of UFTAA:

In these types of registration a travel agency is the member of both national association and also a member of UFTAA. A general secretary of UFTAA may register this types of individual travel agencies who got the membership of both national association and UFTAA.

2. A member of National assoiciation in a cpuntry which doesnot have UFTAA membership:

In these types of registration a travel agency is the member of the National association in a country but are not the member or doesnot have the membership of UFTAA. These types of individual travel agencies are also registered by the general secretary of the UFTAA where an individual travel agencies just have the membership of the national association but doesnot have the membership of the UFTAA.

3. In a country where there is no National Association:

This types of registration generally happen when the registering travel agency belongs to the country where there is no national association. And this type of registration are also done by the general secretary of the UFTTA where the country has no national association.

The advantages of being registered with UFTAA are listed below:

1. The right to reproduce the UFTAA symbol on letter heads and for window display purpose. Thus, giving the agency proportional and ethical standing which helps an organization or a travel agencies to gain a trust of the consumer and also helps to gain the reputation. If the symbol of UFTAA is used then that means the concerned organization or travel agencies are the member of a national association and UFTAA.
2. Publication of agency or enterprise particular in the UFTAA annual directly which is distributed to all members and association which helps to all members and association to get connected with the activities and information about the UFTTA.
3. Information service upon request on all questions of a legal and or professional nature which helps to gather a required information and helps in the proper outcome and utilaization of those collected information given by UFTAA.
4. Assistance fare of charge by the UFTAA legal departments for the recovery of out-standing debts (Amount) where assistance will help for the recovery of out-standing debts (Amount).

The aims of UFTAA:

Some of the aims of UFTAA are listed below in point methods:

1. To unite and reinforce national association and organization of travel agents, so that the both association and organization can be united and work together smoothly.
2. To act as role (single) representative of the travel agency professional at international and worldwide level, where the all authority will be in the side of UFTAA and it can represent the travel agency among an international and world wide level.
3. To ensure the maximum prestige, protection and development in the economy, judicial (legal) and social spheres parts for the travel agency professional. UFTAA also aimed to ensure the prestige as well the prestige and better development of travel agencies and association in the economy sector as well as in the sector of the legal and social spheres.
4. To enable the professional to take its rightful place in the tourism trade economy where he/she can do his/her duty rightly as they are the professional in tourism trade economy by which a tourism and travel agencies can run smoothly at the national and international level.
