- Defining the problems:-The statistician needs to have an exact definition of the problems which are studying in order to obtain accurate data about it. For example, We would like to have the number of an inhabitant of a particular town during a specific period. The word inhabitant has to be clearly defined. For tourism statistics, we need to clearly define the term which is related to tourism activities. The terms may be the visitor, tourist, inbound tourism, outbound tourism, tourism expenditure and much more.
- Collection and arranging of the data:-Different types or kinds of information are needed for different problems. The data can be collected and arranged by using various methods. For example, some Questionaire, face to face interview etc. The choice of method will depend on upon the objectives of the studies as the resources available.
- Analyzing the data:-Analyzing the data involves computing average or percentage or displaying the data as Graphs, Bar graphs, pie-charts, curves etc. through the interpretation the statisticians generalized from a small collection of an observation or experimental reserves to the population as a whole. The result may be reported as the table, graphs, or a set of percentage.
