Production of Enzyme Protease

Introduction

Protease is the enzyme that hydrolyzed the peptide bond of large protein molecules into the small molecules of amino acid linke in a polypeptide chain. As we know the proteins are made by linkage of many amino acids molecules. Protease performs proteolysis and it is also known as peptidase or proteinase. This enzyme can be found in various animals ,plants , fungi and bacteria and different class of protease performthe same reaction but in different mechanisms. Protease can be found in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes and even in viruses . In viruses also the viruesis also covered by the protein coat. To hydrolyzed the protein , protease enzyme is necessary. This enzyme perform many important reactiondepending upon the sequence of arrangement of amino acid chain in the peptide bond. Protease in animals can be used in various metabolic activities and metabolism.
