Status determines the role of the people in the society, whereas the status is the authority, prestige, and reputation of the individuals. Norms and values

Society is formed by the group of people with the aim of helping one another and living their life following the various cultures in the definite territory. There needs to be rules and regulation to run society and to protect the society from the illegal act that harms the society and its members. In that sense, norms are the act of securing society from harmful and negative impacts of the human beings in the society. Norms are the set of rules and regulation for the proper running of the society. It is the guideline for running the society. It is the set of rules and regulations that protect from illegal acts in the society and protect the society from the negative impacts such as collapse of the society, social misunderstanding, and Thugs. Norms change according to the situation and time.Social norms are the rules and the regulations which are legal and accepted in society.A norm is a guideline for behavior. Each society make up its own rules for behavior and decides when those rules have been violated and what to do about it. Norms change constantly accordance to the upgrade of the society, whereas the values refer to the importance of the elements to determine the best way to live life.

Values of the society can be regarded as the ideas and thoughts about determining the effective elements of the society. It is the collection of thinking, ideas and the thought that helps to upgrade the society. It is the effective way of implementing the norms and the culture in the society for its goodwill. A value of the society determines what is wrong and what is right. Values refer to the element of the society that determine the efficient and the effective way of living. Values help to implement the norms in the efficient and effective manner in regard to uplift the status of the society and maintain the standard of living. It helps to make decision about the conditions of the society's culture and helps to maintain the society at the level of accuracy.Values are the collective ideas about what is wrong and what is right, good or bad, desirable and undesirable in the particular culture. Norms are the rules and the regulation that is accepted in the society. The norms help to maintain the act of the society or the member of the society in the definite discipline manner.

Status and the role of the society

As human beings are the member of the society their positions or the members of the society or the human beings determine the status of the society. Status defines the reputation and the prestige of the people in the society that is determined by the people's intelligence, social works, education, property, family status, and the classes. All the society does not have same status. Statuses of the each people differ from others. It can be defined as the social ranking of the people in the society that is determined by the various factors.  It is act of determining the certain way of the pattern to meet the certain expectation level in the society.

Status of the society is the social position in the society and the role is set of norms values related to the status. Roles are the pattern or the organization of attitude in certain positions to act according to the expectation. Status and the roles are interdependent to each other. Status determines the role of the individuals in the society. Status refers to the group member authority, prestige and the reputation in relation to the other members of the society. Status is also called the socio-economic status and is determined by the income, educational background.

Ethnicity

The term ethnicity first appeared in 1950 in the English languages and it is first recorded in the oxford English dictionary of 1953.This term is the derivative of the eldest term ethnic. Ethnicity is the social process and the social relations rather than the static cultural phenomena. It is based upon the idea of the fictive kinship between the members of the respective groups. It is the creation of the respective groups in the everyday interaction. Ethnicity is based on the postulates of the unity and homogeneity and common belief in the shared solution and the origin on the basis of the collectivity. It is the collective identity formation. Some traits of the ethnicity are the nationality, religious faith, tribe, shared culture, shared religion, shared languages. It is the relational concept including the drawing of the clear boundaries. Ethnic groups of any country are the minority groups which are disadvantaged, marginalized and mostly under representative. In Nepal, the Brahmin, Chhetri and the thakuri are categorized in the main stream groups where as the non-Hindus groups are categorized in the under ethnic minority groups.

It is the character of the group of the people sharing the common culture, food, language.Ethnicity is the social group that shares the same, common distinctive cultural, language and the ethnic traits. 

Gender

Gender is the cultural term reflecting the social attribute associated with being male or female. We know that the sex is biologically defined where as the gender is socially defined. Gender refers to the socially learned traits associated with or the expected with men or the women. Gender is the socio cultural and political manifestation of man and the women. As the gender is the key locus of the cultural structure in the Nepal gender discrimination is highly prevalent in  Nepal with the differences in the opportunities' between the man and the woman. High rituals and the other values attached to the sons as against to the daughter make emphasis on the gender specific socialization. Gender is the socially projected component of the human sexuality. It refers to the socio cultural definition of the man and the women in the way that the society assigns the social role to them. It is the social construction of the sex. Gender identifies the individuals being male or female. Gender determines the biological sex of the individuals. Gender roles vary from society and society change over time.
