National Association of a social worker (NASW) has approved the code of ethics of National Association of Social Worker in 1996, which was revised in 2008 by NASW delegate assembly. Though this code of ethics was developed by NASW, the core foundation of this code of ethics is applicable to social workers all over the world. NASW is an association which works for the promotion and protection of social work profession. To guide the profession and professional it gave social work code of ethics with the changing phases of time in (2008) code of ethics was revised and a new code of ethics was develop by (NASW) delighted assembly. Dilemmas are the situation when the person faced with the choice between two equally on welcome alternatives which may involve a conflict of more principle, and it is not clear which choice will be right one. Ethics are moral principles adopted by a culture, group, profession or an individual to provide rules for ethical conduct. (Corey, Corey & Callanan, 1998 as citied in AASW, 1999). Regarding social worker ethical dilemma occurs many often time by working with clients. Like ethical principle says that one shouldn’t reject the client on the basis of their culture or who he/she is but sometimes personal values trying to overshadow such professional values and hence confusion occurs whether to accept or reject the client. Ethical dilemma is the condition social worker has a choice between two equally conflicting moral principle. While working with clients, sometimes social workers have to face ethical dilemma.

Main Purpose of NASW Code of Ethics
