Europe visits of Jung Bahadur Rana
Junga Bahadur went to Britain in order to establish a good relationship with the queen of Britain as well as to study the social, economic, physical and political activities of Britain. After visiting Europe for a year he became impressed and established Muluki Ain and started English education in Nepal.
Nepal-Tibet War
There was the war between Nepal and Tibet due to the misbehavior to the Nepalese living in Lhasa during the regime of Jung Bahadur Rana, border encroachment, and the Nepalese lawyer was expelled.
Thapathali Treaty
The treaty between Nepal and Tibet in the Thapathali Durbar signed on Chaitra 3, 1912 BS in order to end the war between Nepal and Tibet is known as Thapathali Treaty. This treaty was in favor of Nepal. According to this treaty, Nepal would get Rs. 10,000 from the government of Tibet. This treaty also made the Nepalese to live in Lhasa.
38 Year Event
The conspiracy to kill the then Prime Minister Ranodip Singh and his brother Dhir Shumsher in 1938 BS is called 38-year event. There was the inclusiveness of Yuvraj Trailokya, Jagat Jung, Subba Hom Nath Khatiwoda, Uttar Dhwoj Khawa, etc. in this event.
42 Year Event
The event in which the sons of Dhir Shumsher killed their uncle Ranodip Singh and overtook the throne is called the event of 42 years. This event was called the event of 42 years because it was held in 1942 BS. After this event, the regime of Jung Bahadur’s family ended and the regime of Shumsher family was started.
Prachanda Gorkha
Umesh Bikram Shah, Ranga Nath Sharma, Khadgaman Singh and Main Bahadur established Prachanda Gorkha in 1988 and action to end the Rana Regime. That matter was enclosed by Laxman Prasad and so the entire property of Umesh Bikram and he was exiled and others were jailed. This was called Prachanda Gorkha Event. This had played an important role to end the Rana Regime.
Library Event
There was no permission to establish library during Rana regime.During the rule of Bhim Shumsher, 45-46 people including Jogbir Singh, Laxmi Prasad Devkota, and Krishna Prasad Katiwoda planned to establish a library. All were arrested as their idea of establishing library was exposed before submitting the demand paper of more than 40 people. 100/100 rupees fine was taken from all those who were arrested, but the library was not opened.
Praja Parishad
Praja Parishad was established as the first political organization of Nepal on Jestha 20, 1993 BS in Kathmandu. Its main objective was to end Rana regime and establish Democracy. Its founders were Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Tanka Prasad Acharya, Dashrath Chand, Jeevan Sharma and Ram Hari Sharma. There was the economic support of King Tribhuwan for this organization. The members of this organization were arrested and the four of them Dharma Bhakta Mathema, Sukhraraj Shastri, Ganga Lal Shrestha and Dashrath Chand were killed.
Nepalese Citizen Rights Committee
This committee was established in 1994 BS in the house of Raja Lal Kalwar near to Asan. It aimed at creating awareness through pamphlets and articles. The chairman of this committee was Sukharaj Shastri. Sukharaj Shastri, Kedarnath Byetith, Muralidhar Sharma, Ganga Lal Shrestha, etc. were the members of this committee.
Jayatu Sanskritam Aandolan
The strike that was carried out by the students of Rajakiya Sanskrit School situated at Ranipokhari on Ashar 4, 2004 BS, demanding that study of economics, geography, history, politics, etc. should be started. This strike done by those students is simply called Jayatu Sanskritam Aandolan. This helped the democratic strike of Nepal.
