Medicinal Plant

Medicinal and aromatic plants are the valuable forest resources of Nepal. In Nepal, The medicinal value of plants as neem, amia or tulsi have been known for thousands of years. In Nepal, there are about 800 types of medicinal herbs in Nepal but only 70 are used as medicine. Quinine, the medicine used for the treatment of malaria, is obtained from the bark of the cinchona plant which is found in the different ecological region due to diversity in climate and other ecological factors.
